2008 has been a difficult year. Factors such as the writer's strike, the mortgage crisis, the SAG contract and the economy have affected us all. But it looks like this fall things are starting to pick up.

Sarah & Sophia
Sophia Marries Matt
<>>
Last month PropTarts co-owner Sophia Martinez and longtime sweetheart Matt Moore got married. Sophia has now officially changed her name to Sophia Madalana Martinez Moore. The couple will be hosting a reception at their house in Greensboro next month. Congratulations Matt and Sophia.
Pre-production will soon start on the independent feature The 5th Quarter. Sophia is to work on the project as Production Designer.
Film rights to the highly inspirational sports story - The Jon and Luke Abbate Story - have been acquired by Angel City Pictures' Rick Bieber, who has written the screenplay and will direct the independent feature in the Winston-Salem area.
A quick synopsis: driven by the tragic and fatal car crash that took the life of his fifteen year old brother Luke, and wearing Luke's number 5 jersey, Jon Abbate leads the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to the most successful season in school history, and an appearance in the Orange Bowl.
Rick Bieber just completed post-production for the independent feature film Crazy (crazy-themovie.com), which he co-wrote, directed and produced. The film, which is inspired by the life of legendary guitar player Hank Garland, stars Waylon Payne (Walk The Line) and Ali Larter (Heroes)."

Lost Stallions at Blockbuster Video
<>>
Last summer, Sarah was production designer on the Totality Films, LLC project Lost Stallions: The Journey Home, shot on location in the Winston-Salem area. Film veteran Mickey Rooney and his wife Jan Chamberlin Rooney starred.
The film was recently picked up for nationwide retail distribution. You can now rent and buy the DVD online from major retailers like Best Buy, Blockbuster, FYE, CircuitCity, Netflix, Hollywood Video, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, and more.
In May, Sarah worked as Prop Master on an independent film from Morgan's Mark Productions called Mississippi Damned. The film shot in the eastern part of the state, in and around Ahoskie, NC. Production designer Aiyana Trotter did a tremendous job on a very limited budget. PropTart Christie Aldridge stepped in to cover for Sarah during the last week of shooting.
The drama, written and directed by Tina Mabry, is about three Black youths growing up in rural Mississippi, stuck in a family that is plagued by addiction, violence, and poverty. Each independently struggles to escape and break the cycles that have haunted their family for generations. Malcolm David Kelley from the TV series Lost played a high school basketball star. The rest of the cast, talented actors from all around the country, were stellar!
